It probably won't affect you much, and it will make your backup solution even more streamlined.

This doesn’t mean re-installing Sync, it just means removing and re-adding it to the startup menu, which is located in: System Preferences - > Users & Groups -> Login Items.. Apparently, although Sync was added to the Mac startup menu automatically when the app was installed, it was not added correctly.

The solution was to remove Box Sync from the Mac startup menu and then re-add it manually.. When you do that, there is a little checkbox next to Box Sync – counterintuitively, that box should NOT be checked (although I don’t know what happens if you check it, doing so is not necessary).

Box Customer Service helped me work through this, so I thought I'd post the solution.. Mar 5, 2018 - It's being replaced with a new app called Backup and Sync Already start seeing messages to download Backup and Sync.. Back in March this year, Google introduced a new enterprise-focused desktop application – dubbed Drive File Stream – for users of its Note: The launch of Drive File Stream also marks deprecation of Google Drive for Mac/PC (the Drive client that was the official one before Backup and Sync came).
